![]() ![]() I had already packed the helmets, and I could literally see her the entire 200 yard trek (and she is a very experienced). The only negative thing I could MAYBE say is that we were loading up and I asked my 12 year old daughter to ride over to the dumpster to throw out the trash. Get lost - that's the point, but call ahead if you are going to travel. The rest should be free range open riding. You are supposed to limit your interaction with staff to the 10 second entry visit, and maybe to buy a T-Shirt. They have comments like: Staff was rude, nobody came and found me, we almost died, park was at capacity, etc. I never leave reviews, but I am reading through the negative reviews, and I am absolutely amazed. Other facilities such as the Pavilion work great for the group, and many of our colleagues who used the bunk houses were happy with their choice. This is the best place on Earth. Showers worked well with plenty of hot water. Would be good to have a couple of urinals in the gents rather than just 3 toilet cubicles, but this was never really a major issue. ![]() The facilities in Area B were excellent - lots of good areas for camping in Tents or hook ups for RVs etc. The main park roads are being widened just now as are other trails such as north pole, Hog Alley and others - I will reserve judgement on all the changes until I have a chance to come back and see progress. I would recommend an update to the available map at a high resolution be available - I used an app called AllTrails and was able to track my location on the trails listed on that map even without cell coverage which helped a lot. Many of the tough spots have bypasses available where the original rated trail has become too eroded and extreme for the rating. Overall the trails are inconsistent in rating levels, partially due to work being done all over the park it seems. The group had their own trail leaders so we had no issues with trail finding while part of that group, however I believe that without that, some of the way finding could have been a challenge at some critical points (like from the top of the Wildcat mountain where I did not see trail signs). We were there for a couple of days with a group of 100 or so full size 4x4s. We have been twice and will be going as many times as my wife lets me. It was 20 minutes before the park closed and there were a total of 10 people in the entire area. ![]() However, how do you get upset on a zero tolerance helmet policy. Park Ranger stopped her and told her to walk back to the RV to get a helmet (I had to chuckle because I told her not to worry about it).
